Comic Artist Tom Nguyen — who has been illustrating for 20 years and worked for companies such as Marvel, DC, Dynamite Entertainment, and IDW Publishing will be at Holiday Cosplay Tampa Bay, Dec. 10-11. The new event, which will combine holiday festivities with the world of comic books and sci-fi, features comic book artists, famous voice actors, and creators as well as a roster of Florida’s top cosplayers.

Tom Nguyen is at Holiday Cosplay both days and is available for photographs and autographs. 


Tom Nguyen’s last convention appearance in Florida was at Fanboy Expo in Orlando in 2021. We’re looking forward to welcoming Nguyen back to The Sunshine State. If you missed him in 2021, this is your chance to see his incredible work in person!


Tom Nguyen was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He entered the world of professional art at the young age of 14 when he was commissioned to draw baseball player portraits. After two years, he began drawing caricatures at a theme park and in the Mall of America. At only 19, Nguyen was hired to illustrate for comic books and has now been in the industry for 20 years.

Tom Nguyen’s Comic Career

DC and Marvel

Tom Nguyen has been a penciller, inker, cover artist, and creator for comic companies such as DC and Marvel and has worked on titles like Batman, Green Lantern Justice League of America, and Superman: Man of Steel.

Additionally, Nguyen has written two instructional books on creating comic art and offers workshops for learning artists.

Tom Nguyen’s Kickstarter Project

The Switch

Alongside Keith Champagne, Tom Nguyen successfully launched a Kickstarter to create a comic called The Switch. The story follows a remarkable super hero on her journey to keep her secret identity hidden. The twist is that her secret identity is more villainous in nature than you’d anticipate. In fact, she’s one of the most wanted super villains around. This comic is a must-read if you love watching heroes toe the line between good and evil. Also, the stunning imagery and fight scenes are breath-taking!

The sequel to this captivating comic is currently in production. 


Recently, Tom Nguyen has been working as an illustrator for television shows such CBS’s Big Brother, TBS’ Wipeout, and Nickelodeon’s All That.
